Does your scarcity mindset create a life you secretly despise?
I used to have a horrendous scarcity mentality. There was never enough time. There was never enough money. There was never enough X, Y or Z for me to really live the life I want.
This royally fucked me for years. It’s not like I wasted those years. But I certainly didn’t make the most of them.
I dragged myself out of that hole over the course of years and now understand how to obliterate that mentality.
Now, I see the same pattern in potential clients day in, day out.
They have excuses that sound like logic but are really just traps.
On one hand they call themselves an adventurer or an ultra runner or an alpinist.
And they may have been that person one day. But their current reality tells a different story.
If you took a snapshot of their past 12 months, all you’d see is someone yearning for adventure, but establishing their own road blocks.
They don’t show up as their best self consistently.
They fail to book the trips.
They fail to live the life of an adventurepreneur.
They settle for mediocrity and the status quo.
Scarcity creates a mediocre life for extraordinary people. Today, I’m going to describe the 3 golden rules I teach my adventurepreneur clients to take.
Then I’m going to explain the single most effective tool to overcome a scarcity mentality.
Time Is Not Infinite
Tomorrow isn’t promised
You could encounter a change of fortune that forever changes your capacity.
If the worst happens, you’ll look back at your missed opportunities and wish you had taken them.
The first golden rule is to appreciate that time is not infinite.
Here’s the apparent conflict:
By accepting that there isn’t enough time, you are free to act with abundance.
Make Growth Your Default
You were never meant to stagnate.
To stagnate is to decay.
There’s a reason you seek adventure.
There’s a reason you crave a challenge.
There’s a reason you long for purpose.
Because you - physiologically, emotionally, and psychologically - are destined for growth.
The second rule I set for my clients is to set their default level of operation for growth.
That means setting up their weeks, months, and years in a way that makes growth essential and their destiny.
Learn Through Proof
The mind works in a fucked up way.
Once you believe something is true, you see proof of that thing every waking moment.
Even if it’s complete bullshit.
Even if it hurts you to do so.
I have a client who believed she was destined to have a mediocre income.
She found proof all around her. Enquiries had dried up, her conversion rates were poor, and her freedom suffered.
All this was bullshit though.
She had learned her scarcity mentality and she was selecting proof around her.
We worked on this mentality and here’s what happened.
I literally just got a text from her saying “I sold 9 spaces on a SUNDAY. And today I woke up with three more inquiries.”
This is from an adventurepreneur who charges big bucks for her work.
9 definite sales and 3 potentials is life changing. And it all started by realising her own bullshit.
The Tool
Luckily there’s one simple tool you can use to easily adhere to these three golden rules.
Before I share it with you, you must understand the three reasons it actually works:
1 - You begin living by the truth that time is not infinite.
2 - You are forced to grow
3 - You activiely disprove yoru stories through action
So here is that tool:
Book the trip.
Yep, that’s it. Book the god damn trip.
That one you yearn for. The one you would feel like a failure if you didn’t make happen.
Once you do that, you are forced to create a reality that punishes and obliterates that scarcity mentality.
